Senate Bill 2328 Summary

• Increases the minimum high school grade point average (GPA) required to qualify for Mississippi Resident Tuition Assistance Scholarships from 2.5 to 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, calculated after seven semesters.

• Requires renewal applicants to maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (increased from 2.50) on a 4.0 scale at the end of each semester, trimester, or term to remain eligible.

• Applies to students attending state institutions of higher learning, public community or junior colleges, and regionally accredited nonprofit colleges and universities in Mississippi.

• Takes effect July 1, 2017.
