Allows the State Medical Examiner to contract with pathology chairs at accredited medical schools to perform autopsies, subject to State Medical Examiner Advisory Council ratification.

Requires autopsy physicians to be licensed in Mississippi and either certified in forensic pathology by the American Board of Pathology or directly supervised by a certified forensic pathologist.

Brings forward existing sections 41-61-55, 41-61-59, 41-61-61, and 41-61-65 of the Mississippi Code regarding medical examiner duties, death investigations, body handling procedures, and autopsy requirements.

Effective July 1, 2017.
