Reduces maximum height requirement for outdoor advertising signs erected on or after April 15, 2008, from unlimited to 40 feet above road grade (or 40 feet above site grade if adjacent land is higher).

Maintains no height limitations for signs erected before April 15, 2008, which are considered conforming structures regardless of height.

Preserves existing spacing requirements of 500 feet minimum between sign structures in commercial and industrial areas.

Brings forward Sections 49-23-5 and 49-23-27 for possible future amendments regarding sign placement restrictions and federal agreements on outdoor advertising control.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
