Contractors and subcontractors are prohibited from hiring non-Mississippi residents for vacant positions until 10 business days after the Mississippi Department of Employment Security receives the employment plan

Mississippi Department of Employment Security must verify Mississippi resident employees and submit qualified candidates to contractors during the 10-day period, which contractors must review before hiring outside applicants

Contract awards will be vacated if contractors fail to comply with these hiring requirements
