Increases the at-risk student funding adjustment in the Mississippi Adequate Education Program (MAEP) from 5% to 7% of the base student cost, multiplied by the number of students participating in the federal free school lunch program.

The increased at-risk funding allocation applies to each school district based on their eligible student population, with calculations performed by the State Department of Education.

Effective July 1, 2017, with no changes to other MAEP formula components including base student cost calculations, local revenue requirements, or add-on program allocations.

Maintains existing provisions for verification by the State Auditor and all other aspects of the MAEP funding methodology established under Mississippi Code Section 37-151-7.
