Reduces Governor-appointed board members from six (6) to five (5) on the Board on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training.

Changes chief of police requirement from two (2) members to one (1) member, removing the requirement that one appointee be from a municipality with population under 5,000.

Increases ex officio members from seven (7) to eight (8) by adding the President of the Mississippi Association of Chiefs of Police, or designee.

Maintains other board composition including sheriff, district attorney, higher education representative, and rank-and-file officer appointed by Governor; keeps all ex officio positions including Attorney General, Highway Safety Patrol Director, and association presidents.

Retains all existing board procedures including three-year terms for most appointments, removal provisions for missing three consecutive meetings, and requirement for at least quarterly meetings.
