Senate Bill 3006 Summary

• Appropriates $19,695,734.00 from the State General Fund and $248,344,092.00 from the State Treasury to the Mississippi Development Authority for fiscal year 2018 (July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018).

• Authorizes 229 full-time permanent positions, 3 part-time permanent positions, 67 full-time time-limited positions, and restricts personnel cost increases unless new programs are added by the Legislature.

• Allocates $4,876,298.00 for Mississippi Tourism Advertising and Promotion, including $299,000.00 for Tourism Grant Development Awards, and $800,000.00 from the Department of Transportation for operating state welcome centers.

• Designates $100,000.00 for the Mississippi Delta National Heritage Areas, $20,025.00 for the Mississippi River Parkway Commission, and $500,000.00 to be transferred to Innovate Mississippi.

• Reappropriates $2,700,000.00 and $750,000.00 from the Capital Expense Fund and $1,600,000.00 from the Budget Contingency Fund for previously authorized expenditures, contingent on unexpended balances from June 30, 2017.
