Mose Allison, pianist, singer, and songwriter from Tippo, Mississippi, passed away on November 15, 2016, at age 89 after a 60-year career spanning jazz, blues, and rock music.

Allison influenced major artists including Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, and Bonnie Raitt, and was called the best jazz vocalist of his time.

Received the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters Honor in 2013 and served as an unofficial ambassador for Mississippi music.

Survived by his wife of 65 years, Audre Mae, four children (Alissa, Amy, John, and Janine), and two grandchildren.

Resolution directs presentation of tribute to Allison's family, Mississippi Grammy Museum, and Mississippi Blues Museum.
