Acknowledges his career progression from teacher at Ackerman High School (1975-1986), to assistant principal and principal at Clinton High School (1986-2003), to superintendent in Starkville (2003-2008), and finally Clinton Public School District Superintendent (2008-2017)

Highlights major accomplishments under his leadership including achieving "A" rating status, passing a $23.5 million bond issue for facility construction and renovations, growing enrollment from 4,600 to 5,200 students, implementing 1:1 technology devices for all K-12 students and teachers in 2013, and hosting First Lady Michelle Obama for health and wellness initiatives

Notes Dr. Burchfield holds advanced degrees including master's, specialist, and doctorate in educational leadership from Mississippi State University, and is the fourth superintendent of Clinton Public School District since its founding in 1970
