Oxford High School "Lady Chargers" girls soccer team won the MHSAA Class 5A State Championship on February 4, 2017, defeating West Harrison 2-0 at Madison Central with an unbeaten 19-0 season record.

Team completed a repeat championship, winning back-to-back state titles in Class 5A before the school moved up to 6A classification.

Morgan O'Connor scored in the sixth minute, and Oxford controlled possession and momentum throughout both halves to secure the championship victory.

Head Coach Hunter Crane led the team with Assistant Coach Macon Humphrees; the victory occurred on the same day the Oxford boys soccer team won their Class 5A State Championship.

Legislature commends and congratulates the team, coaches, parents, and sponsors for their achievement and honor brought to Oxford High School and the State of Mississippi.
