Recognizes the legacy and public health service of the Eliza Pillars Registered Nurses of Mississippi (EPRNM), an organization dedicated to excellence in healthcare founded in 1945 by Black registered nurses in Jackson.

Organization was renamed in the late 1950s to honor Eliza Farish Pillars, the first Black registered nurse employed by the Mississippi State Board of Health on February 1, 1926, who received the Mary Mahoney Medal in 1957.

EPRNM expanded statewide in 1984 into seven districts and is currently committed to promoting community leadership, mentoring student nurses, awarding scholarships, and supporting continuing education for members.

Resolution directs that the resolution be presented to the State President of EPRNM, forwarded to the State Board of Health, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
