Salutes and congratulates blues legend Bobby Rush for winning his first Grammy Award on February 12, 2017, at age 83, after three previous nominations.

Recognizes Rush's Grammy win in the "Best Traditional Blues Album" category for the album "Porcupine Meat" and his five-decade career spanning 370 recorded records.

Acknowledges Rush's accomplishments including performances with major artists (Elvis Presley, Muddy Waters, Ike and Tina Turner), appearances at international venues (40,000-person performance at Great Wall of China), and 36 performances at the Mississippi Delta Blues & Heritage Festival over 39 years.

Notes Rush's honors as International Ambassador of the Blues for Tennessee and International King of the Blues by proclamation of Mississippi's Lieutenant Governor.

Directs that the resolution be presented to Bobby Rush, forwarded to the Mississippi Development Authority, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
