Oxford High School Cheerleaders won the Universal Cheerleaders Association National Championship in the Medium Division at the Game Day National Competition held February 11-12, 2017, at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

The National High School Cheerleading Championship is the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country, televised nationally on ESPN and ESPN2 to over 100 million homes and 32 countries.

The squad practiced all summer starting at 7 a.m. daily and continued daily after-school practice during the school year with extended sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The resolution commends and congratulates the 20-member championship squad and Varsity Coach Allison Wally for bringing honor to Oxford High School, their community, and the State of Mississippi.

The resolution directs presentation of the commendation to the cheerleading team and Principal Bradley Roberson, with copies sent to the Oxford School Board and Capitol Press Corps.
