Acknowledges that thousands of undergraduates at Mississippi universities, colleges, and community colleges pursue independent scholarship with faculty mentors that shapes their intellectual and professional development

Recognizes undergraduate research contributions across disciplines including arts, humanities, social sciences, and STEM fields, and its importance to the state's workforce development in biomedical and technical specializations

Encourages institutions of higher education, federal and state agencies, businesses, and philanthropic foundations to support undergraduate research programs and expand opportunities for underrepresented groups to participate

Directs the resolution be presented to students and faculty participating in Rotunda exhibition posters and forwarded to the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning
