Commends and congratulates six Mississippi youth recipients of the 2017 Prudential Spirit of Community Award for their community service contributions.

Names Luke Kelly (Oxford High School junior) and Davian Powell (Williams-Sullivan Elementary eighth-grader) as State Honorees, each receiving $1,000, an engraved Silver Medallion, and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. in May where ten national winners will be selected.

Recognizes four Distinguished Finalists—Annabeth Breeden, Dylan Carpenter, Caroline Spell, and Kristen Taylor—each receiving an engraved Bronze Medallion for their community service activities.

Details each honoree's contributions, including trail improvement projects, agricultural mentorship, historical preservation fundraising, nursing home volunteer work, hospital fundraising, and crisis support services.

The award, in its 22nd year, is presented by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals to honor young volunteers demonstrating extraordinary commitment to their communities.
