Recognizes Donald L. Jordan's distinguished service as Chief Executive Officer of Southern Pine Electric Cooperative from 1987 until his retirement effective May 1, 2017

Under Jordan's leadership, Southern Pine Electric Cooperative became one of the top ten cooperatives in the United States, serving over 67,000 meters and selling over two billion kWh in 2016

Jordan established and led the cooperative according to the Seven Cooperative Principles while overseeing expansion of district offices, branch locations, and construction of a new campus

Legislature commends Jordan's civic contributions including service on boards for Jones County Junior College, Mississippi Economic Development Council, and Cooperative Energy, plus his advocacy for economic development in south-central Mississippi

Legislature expresses appreciation for Jordan's dedication to employees, members, youth development, health and safety education, and his stewardship as a community leader across Mississippi
