Johnson is a Jackson State University alumna (2013, B.S. Psychology) and graduate student at Mississippi College studying to become a licensed mental health counselor, with plans to pursue a Psychology Doctoral Program at the University of Alabama

Her platform "Be Empowered" focuses on reprogramming youth to believe in themselves and their communities through summits, service projects, and community activities

Johnson is active in civic organizations including Big Brothers and Sisters of America, Youth Advisory Council for the Mississippi Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and Girls with a Dream

The Miss Black USA national winner receives a $5,000 academic scholarship, a trip to Africa, and serves as a celebrity advocate for the Heart Truth Campaign raising awareness about heart disease
