Congratulates the Board of Directors of The Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience (THE MAX) in Meridian upon announcement of its inaugural Hall of Fame class on March 23, 2017.

THE MAX will honor Mississippi artists and entertainers across all disciplines including Elvis Presley, Morgan Freeman, B.B. King, William Faulkner, and others through interactive exhibits and educational programming.

THE MAX facility spans nearly 60,000 square feet with a centerpiece two-story Hall of Fame rotunda featuring 360-degree interactive exhibits organized around five themes: the land, the home, the community, the church, and the people.

The state has pledged $29 million to the project with an additional $14 million from private sources, and the facility is projected to attract 150,000 guests annually and generate millions in economic impact for Mississippi.

Grand opening of THE MAX is expected in 2018 following groundbreaking on October 3, 2015.
