Increases the Board on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training from 13 to 14 members.

Reduces Governor-appointed members from 6 to 5, and reduces chief of police appointments from 2 to 1 member.

Adds two ex officio positions: the President of the Mississippi Association of Chiefs of Police (or designee) and a chief of police appointed by the Mississippi Association of Chiefs of Police.

Updates gender-neutral language throughout, changing "chairman" to "chair" and "his" to "or her".

Removes the requirement that one chief of police appointee represent a municipality with a population under 5,000.
