Authorizes counties to contribute up to two percent (2%) of insurance rebate monies to the Mississippi Burn Care Fund established under Section 7-9-70, at the discretion of the board of supervisors.

Amends Section 83-1-39, Mississippi Code of 1972, to add contributions to the Mississippi Burn Care Fund as an authorized use of insurance rebate monies alongside existing fire protection purposes.

Insurance rebate monies ($4,850,000 annually plus growth-based amounts) continue to be distributed to counties for fire protection services, training, equipment purchase, and capital construction.

Counties must maintain compliance with existing requirements including designating a fire service coordinator, county fire investigator, and levying at least one-fourth (1/4) mill for fire protection purposes to receive insurance rebate monies.

Effective date: July 1, 2018.
