Deletes the requirement that advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) must practice within a collaborative or consultative relationship with a physician or dentist.

Removes provisions requiring APRNs to file and maintain board-approved protocols or practice guidelines that were mutually agreed upon with a collaborating physician or dentist.

Eliminates the requirement that APRNs notify the board of changes in their collaborative/consultative relationships and removes restrictions preventing practice without such relationships.

Maintains existing requirements for APRNs to hold current professional nursing licenses, obtain national certification, complete continuing education (40 hours biennially), and implement quality assurance programs.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
