Creates the Municipal Crime Prevention Fund in the State Treasury, to be administered by the Department of Public Safety to assist municipal crime prevention programs throughout the state.

Fund consists of deposits from expungement petition filing fees and monies from any other public or private source designated for the fund, with unused balances and interest not lapsing to the General Fund.

Increases the filing fee for petitions to expunge an offense from $150.00 to $152.00, with the additional $2.00 deposited into the Municipal Crime Prevention Fund.

Appropriated monies from the fund may only be used to provide financial assistance to cities and counties implementing crime prevention programs, in addition to other available funding sources.

Effective date: July 1, 2018.
