Prohibits employers from terminating or discriminating against employees who leave work to evacuate under an official emergency evacuation order issued by the President, Governor, or political subdivision.

Requires employers who violate this provision to be liable for lost wages and employer-provided benefits, and mandates reinstatement of terminated employees to the same or equivalent position with commensurate pay.

Exempts emergency personnel (law enforcement, fire, medical, emergency management, public works) if the employer provides adequate emergency shelter for those individuals.

Exempts employees necessary to provide public safety or restore vital services from the evacuation protection requirements.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
