Amends Section 25-3-92, Mississippi Code of 1972, to establish compensation requirements for state law enforcement officers working overtime between 160 to 171 hours in a 28-day work period.

Law enforcement officers working these additional hours must be compensated through one of three methods: receiving paid time off, being paid at their regular hourly rate, or receiving credit toward their retirement.

Officers who leave state employment and no longer work with a Public Employees' Retirement System agency must receive compensation through paid time off or direct payment only, not retirement credit.

Effective July 1, 2018.
