Lee County Board of Supervisors may create a second county court judge position designated as Lee County Court Judge Post Two, with the existing position designated as Post One.

The two judgeships are separate and distinct for nomination and election purposes, with no difference in powers, duties, or compensation except that the judge with longest continuous service assigns cases and dockets.

If neither judge has longer service, the judge who has been a member of The Mississippi Bar longest shall have assignment authority.

The county court may be divided into civil, equity, youth, and criminal divisions at the discretion of the senior judge.

The additional judgeship remains active unless the Board of Supervisors adopts an order stating county funds are insufficient, and candidates must meet circuit court judge qualifications and be elected during the first available general election.
