MS HB1677

Authorizes the Panola County Board of Supervisors to employ a certified professional evaluator to approve or deny residential wastewater disposal systems.

Requires the certified professional evaluator to be a county employee certified by the Mississippi State Department of Health and/or the Environmental Protection Agency.

Allows the evaluator to grant or deny approval without Mississippi State Department of Health involvement, provided the county ordinance meets or exceeds state requirements.

Applies only to wastewater disposal system approval requests submitted after the effective date of this act.

Takes effect upon passage.
