Amends Mississippi Code Section 25-31-10 to add the Twenty-first Circuit Court District to the list of districts whose district attorneys may appoint two additional full-time criminal investigators for a total of three.

District attorneys in the First, Second, Fourth, Seventh, Nineteenth, and Twenty-first Circuit Court Districts are authorized to appoint up to three full-time criminal investigators.

Criminal investigators' compensation capped at $59,500 annually, with discretion granted to district attorneys based on qualifications and experience; law degree holders may receive additional compensation from other available funds.

Criminal investigators may attend Law Enforcement Officers Training Program with all expenses paid by the district attorney's office.

Effective July 1, 2018.
