House Bill 310 - Mississippi Minimum Wage Act

• Establishes Mississippi state minimum wage at $8.25 per hour effective July 1, 2018
• Sets minimum wage for tipped employees at $3.62 per hour, exempting employers with tipped employees from standard minimum wage requirements
• Requires overtime compensation at 1.5 times regular rate for employees earning $455 or less per week, plus manual laborers, law enforcement, and most other workers regardless of salary
• Prohibits counties and municipalities from establishing local minimum wage or mandatory leave policies higher than state standards
• Brings forward nine existing Mississippi Code sections for possible amendment, including provisions on elections, education employment, and criminal sentencing
