Requires the State Board of Education to develop a curriculum and course of study in home economics by the 2018-2019 school year, including instruction in cooking, child development, home management, sewing, budgeting, and health/hygiene.

Mandates all local school districts provide home economics programs in secondary schools located in "D" and "F" rated school districts by September 1, 2018, with curriculum aligned to the state board's standards.

Requires all district home economics programs to be aligned with the curriculum and course of study developed by the State Board of Education, removing previous requirement for state board approval.

Includes state funding for home economics programs in the adequate education program and vocational education appropriation bills beginning with the 2018-2019 school year with a line item for at least one instructor per school district.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
