Amends Section 37-7-323 of the Mississippi Code to clarify that municipal or county law enforcement agencies and their sworn officers authorized with police powers in a school district's jurisdiction can prevent and investigate violations of law on school property.

Extends law enforcement authority to violations occurring within 500 feet of school property if reasonably determined to have a possible impact on the safety of students, faculty, or staff on school district property.

Clarifies that nothing in the statute requires school district employees to take action on events outside school property boundaries, nor makes school districts liable for failure to act outside their property.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
