Schools receiving an accountability rating of "F" must operate for at least 180 days plus an additional 15 school days per scholastic year, beginning the school year after receiving the "F" rating.

Schools receiving an accountability rating of "D" must operate for at least 180 days plus an additional 8 school days per scholastic year, beginning the school year after receiving the "D" rating.

School boards in districts with one or more "D" or "F" rated schools must take necessary steps to operate those schools for the required extended number of days.

Updates the definition of "minimum school term" in Section 37-151-5 to reference the new requirements under Section 37-13-63.

The act takes effect July 1, 2018.
