Extends the repeal date of the Mississippi Public Defender Task Force from July 1, 2018 to July 1, 2021.

Task force comprised of 13 members including representatives from public defender and prosecutor associations, courts, legislature, and bar associations.

Task force duties include conducting comprehensive studies of indigent defense needs by circuit court district, examining other states' approaches, and studying relationships between judges and appointment of defense counsel.

Members receive per diem compensation and reimbursement for travel expenses as provided by law.

Act takes effect July 1, 2018.
