Expresses profound regret for Mississippi's role in slavery and apologizes for the wrongs inflicted by slavery and its aftereffects on enslaved Africans and their descendants.

Acknowledges that slavery deprived African Americans of life, human dignity, and constitutional protections, and recognizes the subsequent harms of Jim Crow laws and ongoing racism.

Encourages remembrance and teaching of slavery, Jim Crow laws, and modern-day slavery history to ensure these tragedies are neither forgotten nor repeated.

Specifies the resolution shall not be used in or serve as a basis for any litigation.

Directs copies be distributed to state elected officials, the Commissioner of Higher Education, and leaders of the NAACP and Southern Christian Leadership Conference Mississippi chapters.
