Commends West Point High School Football Team and Head Coach Chris Chambless for winning the 2017 MHSAA Class 5A State Football Championship on December 2, 2017.

Team defeated Hattiesburg High School 41-15 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on the University of Mississippi campus, completing a perfect 15-0 season with 28 consecutive victories.

Green Wave finished ranked Number 1 in Mississippi and Number 39 nationally, with the victory marking their second consecutive Class 5A state championship.

Resolution recognizes the team's defensive strategy, offensive execution, and team spirit, and commends Head Coach Chris Chambless for developing players' skills and potential both on and off the field.
