Commends Dr. Ronnie McGehee for his retirement from the Madison County School District after 21 years of dedicated service, effective June 2018.

Recognizes McGehee's career progression from teaching and coaching in Louisiana beginning in 1977 through roles as assistant principal, principal, and Director of the Building Program where he oversaw $275 million in facility construction for 14 schools.

Acknowledges McGehee's accomplishments as superintendent including expanding ACT access so all juniors take the exam during school hours, implementing STEAM programs, adopting "Bring Your Own Device" policies, and establishing a 1:1 laptop initiative for high school students.

Notes the school district achieved an "A" accountability rating, produced numerous National Merit Scholars, and maintained a safe and secure environment under McGehee's leadership.

Directs copies of the resolution be furnished to Dr. McGehee, the Madison County School District board president, and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
