Commends Mr. Bob Wedgeworth for his distinguished career and leadership upon his retirement as Director of Operations and 911 Coordinator of Rankin County Emergency Operations in January 2018.

Recognizes his service in the United States Marine Corps from 1981 to 1984, including deployment to Beirut during the 1983 U.S. Embassy bombing and participation in Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada, with multiple military honors including Combat Action Ribbon and Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal.

Acknowledges his public safety career beginning in 1987 with the Ridgeland Fire Department and Richland Fire Department, including service as Senior Instructor at the Mississippi State Fire Academy and three deployments during Hurricane Katrina response in 2005.

Notes his 10 years as Rankin County Emergency Operations Director developing the county's first Multi-Jurisdictional Response Teams and 911 Systems, and his 2005 election as Alderman for the City of Richland.
