Commends Noah Barbieri of Belden, Mississippi for being named both a Truman Scholar and a Rhodes Scholar, described as an incredible accomplishment and testament to his dedication to academic excellence.

Barbieri is a senior at Millsaps College majoring in economics and philosophy with a minor in mathematics, maintaining a 4.0 GPA and ranking first in his class of 165 students.

Barbieri is only the second student in Millsaps College history to receive the Truman Scholarship and the seventh in the college's history to be named a Rhodes Scholar, one of the world's most prestigious academic awards.

Plans to graduate from Millsaps College in May 2018 and pursue a master's degree in economics at the University of Oxford followed by a doctorate in economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Intends to use his education and skills to run for political office and develop practical solutions to challenges facing Mississippi.
