Reverend Melvin Boles, a beloved pastor and spiritual leader from Meridian, Mississippi, passed away on February 28, 2018.

Reverend Boles was a pioneering pastor who broadcast his church services on television and radio, reaching thousands of people beyond his congregation.

He founded Southside Tabernacle Church after initially operating a storefront church and conducted tent revivals throughout the South, traveling between Mississippi and Florida to spread the Gospel.

Reverend Boles was also an accomplished fiddler who integrated music into his ministry throughout his career until retiring from full-time ministry at Evangel Temple in 2002.

The resolution commemorates his life and legacy, expressing sympathy to his surviving family including his wife of 70 years, two children, and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
