Commends and congratulates the Lawrence County High School Lady Cougars Basketball Team for winning the school's first MHSAA Class 4A Girls State Basketball Championship in the 2017-2018 season.

Lady Cougars finished with a 32-3 overall record, went 12-0 in district play, won the Region 7-4A Championship, and defeated Byhalia High School 38-34 in the state championship game on March 8, 2018.

Recognizes Head Coach Vicki Rutland's leadership and Assistant Coach Jesse Anderson's contributions, along with support staff including athletic trainer LeKyndra Smith, volunteer coach Scott Johnson, and team managers.

Names the 13-member roster: Michellee Johnson, Tyranesha Davis, Faith Lewis, Bailey Baylis, Jakya Dampier, Jakiara Buckner, Camryn Davis, Tyuna Slay, Casey Lewis, Kyunna Thomas, Tieshia McCallum, Khilah Jones, and Neziah Smith.

Orders copies of the resolution be furnished to Lawrence County High School, Head Coach Vicki Rutland, and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
