Commends the life, service, and legacy of Mr. Alix H. Sanders, Sr., who passed away on March 16, 2018, and expresses sympathy to his family and friends.

Recognizes Mr. Sanders as Leflore County's first African-American attorney and first African-American County Supervisor, with a 50-year legal career advocating for the poor and disenfranchised.

Acknowledges his education at Jackson State University and University of Mississippi Law School (JD 1969), fellowship as a Reginald Heber Smith Community Lawyer Fellow, and roles including director of North Mississippi Rural Legal Services and 20-year member of the Board of Supervisors.

Notes his professional accomplishments including president of the Leflore County Bar Association, recipient of the Magnolia Bar Association's R. Jess Brown Award, 15 years on the CLE Commission of the Mississippi Bar Association, and service as municipal judge, county prosecutor, and legal counsel to multiple school boards.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to Mr. Sanders' family and the Capitol Press Corps.
