Commemorates the life, service, and legacy of Mr. Alix H. Sanders, Sr., who passed away on March 16, 2018, and expresses sympathy to his family and friends.

Recognizes Mr. Sanders as Leflore County's first African-American attorney and first African-American County Supervisor, with a 50-year legal career dedicated to serving the poor and disenfranchised.

Notes his educational achievements including a bachelor's degree in history and political science from Jackson State University (1966) and Juris Doctorate from University of Mississippi Law School (1969), followed by a Reginald Heber Smith Community Lawyer Fellowship.

Acknowledges his extensive public service as a 20-year Board of Supervisors member, municipal judge, county prosecutor, legal counsel to multiple school boards, and leader in professional organizations including the Leflore County Bar Association and Magnolia Bar Association.

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to Mr. Sanders' family and the Capitol Press Corps.
