Commends and congratulates the Madison County, Mississippi, Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., upon its 10-year anniversary, celebrating "A Decade of Service, Designed for a Purpose."

Chapter was chartered on April 26, 2008, as the 20th chapter in the Southern Region with 50 charter members and currently has 160 members serving Camden, Canton, Farmhaven, Flora, Gluckstadt, Madison, Ridgeland and Sharon.

Chapter has contributed over $50,000 in scholarships to high school seniors and participated in numerous community programs including back-to-school drives, ACT workshops, health wellness fairs, voter registration drives, expungement clinics, and youth educational development programs.

Chapter has earned distinguished service awards from the sorority and external organizations including the American Cancer Society, demonstrating significant community impact across the Five Point Programmatic Thrust areas of economic development, educational development, international awareness, physical and mental health, and political awareness.

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to the chapter president and Capitol Press Corps.
