Recognizes the retirement of United States Senator William Thad Cochran effective April 1, 2018, after 46 years of service representing Mississippi.

Notes Cochran was the first Republican elected to statewide office in Mississippi in over 100 years when elected to the Senate in 1978, and retires as the 10th longest-serving Senator in U.S. history.

Commends Cochran's work as Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, particularly his securing of $29 billion in immediate Hurricane Katrina relief in 2005, including $5 billion in HUD Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program funds for Mississippi.

Acknowledges Cochran's reputation for bipartisan consensus-building, personal attention to constituent meetings, and successful funding of federal programs, university facilities, military installations, and infrastructure projects throughout Mississippi.

Directs distribution of the resolution to Senator Cochran, the President and Vice President of the United States, the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, the Governor of Mississippi, and the Capitol Press Corps.
