Commends the life, service, and legacy of Dr. Milton Duane "Bud" Matthews, who passed away on March 16, 2018, and expresses sympathy to his family and friends.

Recognizes Dr. Matthews' 56-year career in education, including 36 years with the Mississippi Department of Education where he served as Director of the Office of Compensatory Education overseeing budgets exceeding $125 million.

Acknowledges his educational credentials from East Central Community College, University of Southern Mississippi (PhD), and Mississippi College, and his work beginning in 1960 in Neshoba County schools.

Notes his volunteer service including 17 years with the Radio Reading Service for the handicapped, volunteer work with international cultural exchange exhibits, and his commitment to his church, Old Towne Community Church.

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to Dr. Matthews' family and the Capitol Press Corps.
