MS SB2040

Requires the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning and the Mississippi Community College Board to adopt policies awarding educational credits to enrolled veteran students for military training or service courses.

Credits may be awarded only for courses meeting American Council on Education standards or equivalent and determined by the institution's academic department or faculty to be equivalent to courses offered at that institution.

Each board must adopt necessary rules, regulations, and procedures to implement the policy effective beginning with the 2019-2020 academic year.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
