Authorizes local school boards to sell sixteenth section school land for commercial development under the same conditions as industrial development sales.

Defines "commercial development" to include wholesale/retail businesses, financial institutions, professional offices, service trades, grocery stores, hotels, restaurants, utilities, condominiums, and apartment complexes.

Requires school districts to purchase replacement land of equivalent fair market value in the same county when sixteenth section land is sold.

Limits commercial development sales to no more than 100 acres per sixteenth section in any county and requires approval by county board of supervisors and Mississippi Development Authority.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
