Amends Section 97-15-37 of Mississippi Code to add a new misdemeanor level for maliciously impeding traffic on public roads or highways.

Maintains existing misdemeanor for obstructing roads (felling trees or bushes) with penalty of up to $50 fine or up to one week imprisonment.

Creates enhanced misdemeanor for intentional acts of malice including sitting, standing, or lying in public roads to impede emergency vehicles, punishable by up to $1,000 fine or up to six months imprisonment, or both.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
