Requires school board members selected after July 1, 2018 to hold an associate degree from an accredited junior or community college, or a minimum of 60 semester hours with a 2.0 GPA from an accredited college or university.

Requires certified transcripts as proof of educational qualifications at the time a candidate qualifies to run for office.

Exempts school board members already serving on July 1, 2018 from the new educational qualification requirements.

Authorizes the Attorney General to remove school board members who fail to meet the educational qualifications required by the bill.

Provides that medical or other catastrophic hardship may extend the compliance deadline by an additional three months, as defined by the Mississippi School Boards Association.
