Amends Mississippi Code sections 37-151-103 and 37-9-39 to authorize school districts to choose between processing a single monthly payroll or semimonthly payroll for both licensed and nonlicensed employees at the discretion of the local school board.

Requires electronic settlement of payroll checks through direct deposit of net pay for all school district employees.

Mandates that salaries or wages be paid at a minimum on a monthly basis, with employees earning equal monthly installments beginning in the first month of employment regardless of days worked.

Requires employees who fail to complete contractual obligations and receive overpayment to repay the school district the excess amount plus interest at the current Stafford Loan rate.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
