Requires the State Department of Education to develop and implement a differential K-12 school district accreditation rating model effective with the 2018-2019 school year that allows different accountability standards to apply to different school districts.

The differential accreditation rating system must consider not only increases in testing performance but emphasize targeting graduate skills needed by the local school district economy and requested by the local business community.

Amends Section 37-17-6 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 to authorize this new accreditation approach while maintaining existing performance-based accreditation requirements and accountability measures.

Effective date is July 1, 2018.
